Banned Publishing (نشر ممنوع) is a series of illustrated stories based on true events. The protagonist of this series is the collective Nasheran (الناشرون), who decided to face controversial and oppressive scenarios by publishing and distributing both forbidden texts and written statements, within constrained and limited resources.

These stories and illustrations portrait the moment in which this collective, their friends, families and neighbors gathered in their households and worked with their own hands to publish and spread texts that were prohibited, yet sensitive and urgent. As homes became the empowered centers of distribution, and hands got directly involved in the publishing process, for Nasheran (الناشرون) the unimaginable became imaginable and fears temporarily disappeared.

Nasheran (الناشرون) was active in Summer 2009 in Tehran.
Nasheran (الناشرون) was active in Autumn 1987 in Riyadh.
